Klaipeda – Palanga Tour

This tour combines the sites of the old town of Klaipeda along with the marvel of the Amber museum in Palanga with its exhibits of amber pieces, jewellery and decorations.
You will start the tour travelling by bus from the port to the old town of Klaipėda and have a little walk passing buildings, which date from the 18th century and stop in the Theatre Square. The square has been renovated and now sparkles with new colours. The main accent of the square is the “Taravos Anikė” sculpture. In the square you will also see craftsmen: weavers, carvers at their work. From the Old Town you will continue towards Palanga passing through residential areas of Klaipeda.
After arriving to Palanga you get off the bus and walk to the Palanga Botanical Park built in 1897-1907, which is home to over 200 species of trees and shrubs. The neo-Renaissance style palace built by Count Tiškevičius in 1897 now houses the Amber museum. The interior visit will reveal you the marvel of the Baltic gold: (Amber jewellery). Afterwards you will stroll in the gardens to the beach, passing swans and other birds in the ponds. The park is widely considered to be the richest and most beautiful park in Lithuania. En route to the beach you will pass “Birutė’s Hill” and Lourd made by the count’s family at the beginning of the 20th century.
